Conductor Stringing

After the structures are in place, crews use specialized pulling equipment to install the conductors, ground wires, and any fiber optic cable. This process begins by first stringing pilot lines through the stringing pulleys on the structures. Using a helicopter to pull pilot lines through the structures is an efficient and low-impact construction method. The pilot lines are then used to pull in conductors and ground wires.

This process is repeated until all lines are pulled into place. Pulling and tensioning equipment will then maintain tension on the lines while they are fastened to the structures.
